Peekaboo

Something is wobbling. Tap it and see who is hiding.

For parents

Peekaboo is the classic first mechanic for this age, and its appeal is developmental rather than playful: between the first and second birthday object permanence takes hold — the insight that something still exists even when you cannot see it. That is exactly what this game practises, without ever explaining it. One tap opens the hiding place, an animal peeks out, and its name is spoken in the same moment; a second tap waves it off and the next hiding place arrives. Tapping beside it costs nothing — the hiding place simply wobbles a little harder. There is no timer, no score and nothing that can be lost. The button above turns the sound off at any time.
