Learn Multiplication - The Wimolino Multiplication Trainer
Multiplication tables are one of the most important mathematical foundations children learn in elementary school. Mastering times tables makes math class easier and benefits children in many everyday situations. Our free multiplication trainer on Wimolino helps children learn multiplication tables through play and anchor them permanently in memory.
What Are Multiplication Tables?
Multiplication tables encompass the multiplication of two numbers. We distinguish between basic multiplication (tables 1 to 10) and large multiplication (tables 11 to 20). In basic multiplication, each number from 1 to 10 is multiplied by every other number from 1 to 10, resulting in 100 problems children should memorize during elementary school.
Why Are Multiplication Tables So Important?
Multiplication tables form the basis for many further mathematical operations. Those who master times tables can divide faster, understand fractions, and solve more complex problems. Multiplication appears constantly in everyday life: shopping, cooking, distributing items, and many other situations.
How Our Multiplication Trainer Works
Our trainer offers various modes: children can specifically practice individual tables or use mixed mode for all tables shuffled together. Each problem is presented with multiple-choice answers. After each answer, there is immediate feedback - correct answers are rewarded, and incorrect answers show the correct solution.
Tips for Parents: Practicing Multiplication Effectively
- Start with easy tables: The 2s, 5s, and 10s are easiest and give children quick success.
- Daily short training: 5-10 minutes of daily practice is more effective than one long session per week.
- Use swap tasks: 3 x 7 = 7 x 3. When a child knows one table, they automatically know parts of others.
- Create real-world connections: Incorporate multiplication into shopping, setting the table, or baking.
Which Table to Start With?
We recommend starting with the 10-times table (easiest to remember), then 5s, 2s, 1s, and 4s. After that, move on to 3, 6, 8, 9, and finally the challenging 7-times table.
